Welcome to The Provincial Hen!
Hi, I’m Courtney—the heart behind The Provincial Hen.
Life around here is a little wild in the best way – filled with feral kids in princess dresses, muddy boots by the door, chickens pecking in the yard, and days that blur between cows and creative moments. We’re 4th generation cattle ranchers here in the Bayou state where mornings can start too early, boots are a necessity, and the days are filled with equal parts beauty and chaos. Somewhere between feeding cows, folding laundry (that never ends), and refereeing sibling negotiations, you’ll usually find me clutching a cup of coffee… or let’s be honest, a little “mommy juice” by the end of the day.
And right in the middle of all that real life, The Provincial Hen came to be.
What started as a love for timeless pieces—European antiques, worn woods, delicate carvings—grew into something more meaningful. It became my creative outlet, my small business, and a way to bring a touch of old-world charm into everyday homes… even the messy, lived-in ones like mine.
Because I don’t believe homes should feel perfect. I believe they should feel lived in, layered, and loved. A place where a French armoire can stand proudly next to a pile of dress-up gowns, where a vintage champagne bucket might share space with juice boxes, and where beauty exists right alongside the chaos.
This space is where I’ll share all of it—
The antique finds, the sourcing trips I dream about (and sometimes take), the behind-the-scenes of building this business, and the everyday moments of raising a family that keep me on my toes.
It’s a little bit European countryside…
a little bit Southern farm…
and a whole lot of real life.
So, whether you’re here for antiques, inspiration, or just to feel a little less alone in the beautiful chaos—welcome.
I’m so glad you’re here.
